Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
4 cups frozen hash brown potatoes (or thinly sliced fresh potatoes)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika (optional)
1 cup milk
Instructions:
🍽️ Prepare the Casserole:
Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the meat is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and milk. Mix well.
Layer the casserole: In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half of the frozen hash browns (or fresh sliced potatoes) evenly on the bottom. Top with half of the beef mixture, then sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining hash browns, beef mixture, and cheese.
🍽️ Bake:
Cover and bake: Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
Uncover and finish baking: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden.
🍽️ Serve:
Cool and enjoy: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your hearty Hamburger Potato Casserole!
