Strawberry Bombs

Ingredients:
For the Dough:
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup warm milk
– 2 large eggs
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Filling:

– 1 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
– 1/4 cup strawberry jam
– 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

For Coating:

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– Vegetable oil for deep frying

Directions:

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

2. Add warm milk, eggs, and softened butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.

3. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5. Mix chopped strawberries with strawberry jam and set aside.

6. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal portions.

7. Flatten each portion and place a spoonful of strawberry filling in the center.

8. Carefully seal the edges, forming a smooth ball.

9. Heat oil to 350°F in a deep fryer or heavy pot.

10. Fry the strawberry bombs in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

11. Drain on paper towels and roll in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon while still warm.
