The Topping:

1 bag (20 oz) Frozen French fries (crinkle-cut or shoestring work best).
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
2. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef along with the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the beef is fully browned and the onions are soft. Drain any excess grease from the pan.
3. Create the Sauce: Lower the heat and stir in the salt, black pepper, ketchup, mustard, and the cream of mushroom soup. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
4. Assemble the Base: Pour the beef mixture into your prepared baking dish, spreading it out into an even layer.
5. Add the Cheese Layer: Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese directly over the beef mixture.
6. Top with Fries: Arrange the frozen French fries in a single, even layer on top of the cheese. (Do not thaw them beforehand).
7. Bake to Perfection: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes. You want the fries to be golden brown and crispy.
8. Final Melt: Remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the fries. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and melted.
9. Serve: Let it cool slightly, then serve hot! For the full burger experience, garnish with pickles, diced tomatoes, or a drizzle of burger sauce.
