Homemade Donuts Recipe 🍩🩷❤️🤎

 

Ingredients

**For the Donuts:**
– 2 cups all-purpose flour 🌾
– 1/2 cup granulated sugar 🍬
– 2 tsp baking powder 🥄
– 1/2 tsp salt 🧂
– 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg (optional) 🌰
– 1/2 cup milk 🥛
– 2 large eggs 🥚
– 2 tbsp melted butter 🧈
– 1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
– Oil for frying 🛢️

**For the Chocolate Glaze:**
– 1 cup powdered sugar 🍭
– 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 🍫
– 2-3 tbsp milk 🥛
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 🍦

**For Toppings (optional):**
– Sprinkles 🌈
– Chopped nuts 🌰
– Shredded coconut 🌴

Instructions

1. **Prepare the Dough:**
– In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
– In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
– Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed. Do not overmix.



2. **Shape the Donuts:**
– Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/2 inch thick.
– Use a donut cutter or two round cookie cutters to cut out donut shapes.

3. **Fry the Donuts:**
– Heat oil in a deep fryer or a heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
– Carefully place a few donuts in the hot oil, frying for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
– Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

4. **Make the Glaze:**
– In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust the thickness as needed.

5. **Glaze the Donuts:**
– Dip the tops of the cooled donuts into the chocolate glaze and let excess drip off.
– Add sprinkles or other toppings while the glaze is still wet.

6. **Serve:**
– Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes, then enjoy your homemade donuts! 🎉

Tips
– You can also bake the donuts in a donut pan for a healthier version.
