Cabbage Soup with Chicken and Pork

16 ounces boneless skinless chicken breast
1 pound country-style  pork ribs (boneless)
2 bay leaves
1 large chicken bouillon (like Knorr)
1/4 teaspoon cumin
8 glasses of water
1 medium cabbage (chopped (about 9 cups))
3 medium carrots (chopped)
2 large leeks (chopped (whites only))
2 cloves of  garlic
1 yellow pepper (chopped)
1.5 oz brandy (skip if you don’t  drinkalcohol)
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt (and black pepper to taste)
1/2 teaspoon turmeric or akiot such as Sazon (optional for color)

Pork

🛒 Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 200–300g pork (cut into small pieces)
  • 1 small cabbage (chopped)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 2 carrots (sliced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 potato (optional, diced)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or parsley

👨‍🍳 Instructions

    1. Heat olive oil in a large pot.
    2. Add pork pieces and cook until lightly browned.
    3. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft.
    4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
    5. Add carrots, potato, cabbage, and tomatoes.



  1. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Add shredded chicken, salt, pepper, and spices.
  3. Simmer another 10–15 minutes until everything is tender.

🍽️ Tips

  • For extra flavor, use smoked pork.
  • Add chili flakes if you like it spicy.
  • Serve with bread for a complete meal
